D. Markus Witt is an artistic photographer, the subjects of his art can be anything.

He is passionate about the art of street photography and his approach is steeped in his skills of observation.  His works typically capture a Decisive Moment, make social commentary, or find irony and humor in daily life.  He has a keen eye for composition and a photo-journalistic style, allowing circumstance and his muse to inspire him to create art- regardless of the subject.

During his street shoots he utilizes lines, geometric shapes, patterns, and plays of lights and shadows to to create beautifully composed, crisp, linear works, creating almost abstract works of art out of buildings, landscapes, and everyday life.

He is inspired by greats like Henri-Cartier-Bresson, Robert Frank, Elliott Erwitt, Diane Arbus and Walker Evans.

Doug is the co-founder of Focal Impulse Studio along with his partner, Bebe Dollface.  Focal Impulse specializes in creating bold, beautiful, magazine-quality boudoir and glamour photos of everyday women, capturing their unique style and personality, as well as helping models build their portfolios and market themselves.

Doug is also highly skilled with Photoshop and offers his skills to models and fellow photographers for extensive glamour retouching, masking, and compositing. He also enjoys creating digital art and photo manipulation utilizing his PhotoShop and illustration skills. PhotoShop instruction is also available. Please call or email for rates.
